anciens et mystères archéologiques.

1 : VIENTIANE (arrivée)
Accueil dès votre arrivée à Vientiane.
Transfert vers l'hôtel situé en centre
ville. Premier tour de Vientiane et visite des principaux
sites de la capitale dont le Vat Sisaket. Ce temple
est l'un des plus anciens de la ville, et héberge
des milliers de statues de Bouddha. Egalement le
Vat Prakéo, le temple du Bouddha d'Emeraude
et qui abrita un temps le fameux Bouddha du même
nom. Puis visite du That Luang, lieu sacré abritant
une relique de Boudha, stop au Patouxai, ou Arc de
Triomphe. Et pour le coucher du soleil, nous irons
sur les rives du Mékong.

Day
1: VIENTIANE (arrival)
On arrival in Vientiane Capital,
you are met and transferred to our centrally located
hotel. After a short rest, we start to visit the
major sights of the capital; including the oldest
Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha
statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo
previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image.
On the way to the famous and sacred structure of
That Luang Stupa , we stop to take some pictures
of the imposing Patuxay Monument , which is well
known as Vientiane's own Arc de Triumph, sunset
by the Mekong Riverside and late evening.

Jour
2 : VIENTIANE - XIENG KHOUANG
Embarquement en
début d'après-midi pour Xieng Khouang, l'une des provinces
qui fut hélas extrêmement bombardées pendant la guerre,
entre 1964 et 1973.
Visite de la Plaine des Jarres. Il s'agit en réalité
de trois sites dont une en forêt. Des centaines de
jarres en pierre sont parsemées sur près de 1000m2,
et dont certaines mesurent plus de 3m de hauteur.
Stop à Muang Khoune, l'ancienne capitale de la province,
totalement détruite puis reconstruite après 75. Muang
Khoune abrite quelques vestiges de temples et est habité
par des populations Tai Dam et Hmong.

Day 2: VIENTIANE -
XIENG KHUANG
We board a short afternoon
flight to Xiengkhouang, which was devastated by American
bombing between 1964 and 1973.
Upon arrival, we transfer
out to visit the Plain of Jars (3 sites), an impressive
archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars
are littered all over the plateau. The biggest one
is 3.25 meters high.
We also have time, this afternoon
seeing the old city of Muang Khoun and
the nearby villages, home to the Hmong hill tribe
and Tai Dam people. They have an interesting local
culture and a colorful history.

Jour
3 : XIENG KHOUANG - LUANG PRABANG (par la
route)
Tôt le matin, nous
irons au marché de Phonsavanh où se retrouvent les
villages peuplés par les minorités ethniques de la
région. Puis nous prendrons la route en direction
de Luang Prabang. Sur la route, nous nous arrêterons
à Tham Pra qui abritent des représentations de Bouddha.
Nous
traverserons plusieurs villages Hmong, Tai Dam et vous
pourrez admirer l'un des plus beaux paysages du Laos.
Arrêt à Khoukhoune pour une pause café. Phoukhoune
est le croisement des routes qui vont sont à Luang
Prabang soit à Vientiane.
Arrivée à Luang Prabang. En fonction du temps, petite
visite de la ville, des vat Visoun, vat Mai. Nous terminerons
la journée en haut du Mont Phousi d'où nous aurons une
vue d'ensemble de Luang Prabang et d'où nous pourrons
admirer le coucher du soleil sur le Mékong.
Enfin, détour par le Marché de Nuit, qui s'installe tous
les soirs sur la rue principale.

Day
3: XIENG KHUANG - LUANG PRABANG (by road)
Early
morning, we visit Central Market of Phonsavanh to watch
different Hill Tribes to barter and exchange merchandises.
Then heading out the this small town to Luang Prabang,
on the way, we drop off and see a site more than 200
years old Buddha images in Thampra and varied Hmong
and varied hill tribe minority villages along the road.
They are nice, friendly and welcome you to visit. After
a photo stop, we continue driving up hill, enjoying
mountain splendid natural scenery, forest and landscape.
After a tea or coffee break at Sala Phoukhoun, where
the T-junction of bordering meets Vientiane-Xiengkhouang-Luang
Prabang. The journey will take us over mountainous
region to Luang Prabang. The tranquility and charm
of this town with its splendid natural scenery and
cultural sights make it one of the most delightful
places to visit in Laos.
After checking into hotel,
if time permits we start seeing the impressive stupa
of Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham , Wat Mai,
we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an
enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as
well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the
Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Bazaar,
where you can find the lovely collection and handmade
textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding
Luang Prabang.

4 : LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU
Visite guidée
du plus ancien temple de la ville, le Vat Sène
puis du Vat Xiengthong. Départ en bateau pour
une remontée du Mékong jusqu'à la
rivière "Nam" Ou où se trouvent
nichées au creux de la falaise, les grottes
de Pak Ou. Des milliers de statuettes de Bouddha ont été déposés
au fil des siècles par les populations locale.
Sur le chemin, nous arrêterons au village de Xanghai, "ban xanghai",
où se fabrique un très bon alcool de riz. Puis au retour, au village
de "Ban" Phanom, village connu pour la qualité de ses tissages..

Day
4: LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU
Today, we
enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city's oldest
temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong
with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represent
the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temple.
We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River,
which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil
countryside as well as an interesting visit to the
mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands
of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes
and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of
Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine.
On return, we take a short drive to Ban Phanom, well
known for its hand weaving.

5 : LUANG PRABANG (dernier jour)
Visite du
Musée
national, autrefois l'ancien Palais royal. Outre la
visite du Palais en tant que tel, vous pourrez admirer
les objets reflétant
la culture lao depuis les anciens roi de Luang Prabang.
Non loin de là, le marché central où toute sorte de
curiosités peuvent être trouvées mais aussi un bel
artisanat présenté par les populations montagnardes
dont le textile.
Départ vers l'aéroport.

Day
5: LUANG PRABANG (departure)
Breakfast, visit
the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which
displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting
the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the
early kings right through the last sovereign, and the
Central Market are not to be missed. We visit these sights
in the morning before catching a flight departs this
small, charming city of former royal capital.
